My 6-year-old child weighs 20 kg and has a cough. I need to give them Privitus Suspension. How many milliliters can they take per dose?

Answer:

Privitus Suspension (levodropropizine) is a cough suppressant and can be safely used for a 6-year-old child weighing 20 kg.

The dosage for Privitus Suspension is determined by age:

  • 2 to 4 years: 2 ml per dose, twice a day

  • 4 to 7 years: 3 ml per dose, twice a day

  • 7 to 15 years: 5 ml per dose, twice a day

Since your child is 6 years old, the recommended dose is 3 ml per dose, given twice a day (usually in the morning and evening).

💡 Additional Tips for Cough Relief:

  • Maintain indoor humidity between 40-60%.

  • Encourage your child to drink warm water frequently.

  • Slightly elevate their upper body while they sleep.

  • Avoid exposing the child to cold air and cigarette smoke.

Please monitor your child's condition closely. If the cough persists, worsens, or if any new symptoms develop, consult your pediatrician for an in-person evaluation.
